The Hunger Games (Book) by Suzanne Collins

The Hunger Games is a great book for ages 10 and up. This book is definitely for mature readers, but is also a must-read. The Hunger Games is a post-apocalyptic series of books that leave you turning pages faster and faster.
Katniss Everdeen, the main protagonist of the series lives in the corrupt nation of Panem, the former landscape of North America. There are 12 districts (Formerly 13) all controlled by the Capitol. Since the districts rose up against the Capitol 75 years ago, there have been the national Hunger Games. These games involve kids 12-18 fighting for survival in this savage world. The citizens of the Capitol watch these games purely out of pleasure. Two tributes are taken from each district to fight to the death. Highly recommended. Jemima and I both agree that this book deserves five stars.
